Siding separating under overhang

On my Crossroads Cruiser fiver (CF30BH), the fiberglass siding is separating from the underside of the overhang behind the pinbox. When you open the front storage and latch it to stay open, it comes down more. I'm quite sure the problem is that the door catch is only mounted to the siding and wasn't screwed through to a stud, floor, etc. Any recommendations how to correct this? Should I just use longer screws in the catch to get into the floor above or should I plan to remove it all and re-glue/screw? Thanks in advance, Michael Hellertown, PA

RE: Forum rules regarding sales of RVs.......

Remember back before you knew everything about RVing and the internet. Wasn't it nice to see a forum where you could ask questions? Like "where can I sell my RV?" Some people forget what it's like to be new to something. There's SO many great people on this forum that help people like me out. I hate to see it over-moderated and ruin it for the new folks. MP

RE: Gray tank not vented?

Wow - tks for the info everyone. I park at a storage lot, but I'll get up there tomorrow and look on the roof and under the sink for the vents. Thanks for the tips, Michael

Gray tank not vented?

I have a Crossroads Cruiser CF30BH. After a long weekend of boondocking, the forward gray tank (1 of 2) was quite full. When I pulled the handle to drain it, I got the familiar rush of water sound as it drained. Then is slowly tapered off, and I thought it was empty. When I closed the valve, I could hear a glug-glug-glug sound as it drew in air thru the valve, and could tell there was still a lot of water in it. After a couple minutes, I repeated this process with the same results. Are gray tanks not vented? Is this a unique situation to my 5er? What can I do so it drains fast until empty? It took about 15 min to empty. (luckily no one waiting for the dump station) Thanks for any advice on this, Michael

RE: Can't get my fifth-wheel to line up with the hitch

Sorry for a bit off topic, but I have 5" - 6" of clearance, and my dealer said 5" was the minimum. What are the problems w/ too little clearance? I don't go offroad camping. Tks in advance.

RE: RV Storage Allentown PA

Airport Rd Self storage has an opening ( I just moved out of my spot there ) :) Their number is 610-837-7505. I moved to Rt 33 self-storage because it's closer to my house. Their number is 610-252-4040. Both are around $55 and have no hookups. Enjoy.

RE: crossroads forum - I can't get in

I had a similar "no response" to my attemp to join. I emailed them separately at forum@crossroadsrv.com and asked what's up. They approved me that day.

RE: Battery Life and Replacement

Does anyone use a battery quick disconnect or just remove it during the winter or when not used? I store my fiver at a storage lot and am curious what others do in this situation.

RE: Reese Self installation

Just a follow-up. I did the install myself (with a friend's help) in about 6 hours. I wasn't able to remove the heat shield under the bed, so I had a heck of a time getting all the nuts started. Thanks for the replies. I would recommend anyone w/ some mechanical ability to do their own install. MP

RE: PowerMax Generator goes really bad

I'm sorry this is a little off topic, but after reading this thread, I'm wondering if there's recommendations on what to put between the genset and the railer/RV that will act as a surge suprressor and voltage limiter?

Reese Self installation

Has anyone dared do a self-install of a Reese 16k w/ slider? I'm reasonable handy in the garage, but am concerned there's special tricks that would prevent me doing it myself. A price difference of $500 between doing it myself and paying a dealer to do it is pretty inviting... Unless anyone knows of dealer in SE Pennsylvania that doesn't mark up the hitch and charge an arm and a leg for installation. Thanks.
